So, I read a small bit in Variety that said that Warner Brothers is working on a new Dark Shadows series! Anyone here know anything about that?

Mon, December 8, 2003 - 7:02 AMIt's True
The WB network and Dan Curtis Productions are indeed close to closing a deal to put Dark Shadows back on TV. Tragic Romance storylines seem to be the WB's bread and butter. -

Re: New Dark Shadows?
Mon, December 22, 2003 - 8:08 PMMy concern is that the cast will be too young, at least in appearance. I hope it's as good as the NBC version, and that they hire some veterans for the older roles. -

Re: New Dark Shadows?
Mon, December 22, 2003 - 9:28 PMIt would be smart for the WB to include some of the veterans from the classic show in the new show. A lot of the supporting cast is still alive. Beth, Roger, and quite a few still make the live festival shows. -

Re: New Dark Shadows?
Tue, December 23, 2003 - 10:21 AMI don't know that I'd like some of the old cast back. Although, having David Selby on would not be too bad. I'd really like to see a new cast of some classic actors, like Barbara Steele and Jean Simmons in the NBC series or Joan Bennett in the 1966 series.
Actually, Louis Edmonds died a couple of years ago. Does Jonathan Frid ever go to the festivals? He didn't attend the one that I did. And, I'd heard that he never really does. -

Re: New Dark Shadows?
Tue, December 23, 2003 - 9:25 PMUntil last year I thought Jonathan Frid had died in the late 80's. The last DS Festival he went to was on the east coast in 1991. To my knowledge, he is 79 years old, retired and living in Canada.I hope he will be at the next festival. -

Re: New Dark Shadows?
Wed, December 24, 2003 - 9:19 AMMy god, he's 79! I always think of him as being in his thirties. I hope that he does show up at another one before he dies. How morbid of me. hehe. Actually, Clarice Blackburn died on the very weekend that she was supposed to attend the one that I went to.
