I hate to admit it but, I saw some of the origial run of Dark Shadows. I caught some of the later episodes right before it was cancelled. It was great, but then I was a kid and thought everything on that BOX was great.

No, I saw a good portion of the original series, too. I remember literally runnning home from school to be able to see it.

I began watching DS from the first episode and shortly after the local ABC station dropped the show..I tried to watch it on UHF on an out-of-state station with lots of "snow"...I finally was able to watch the shows when I moved out of state for college (hmmm...I think I chose an out-of-state college so that I could watch DS!!!)...years later, when some stations began to show the reruns, I thought I died and went to heaven!!!..often in college, my roommate's most important assignment was to take notes on every episode that I missed whenever I had to work....ah, the old days before modern technology!!

I admit that I saw DS during its first run, back in the very late 1960s when I was
in my mid teens.

I never imagined that the show would still be so popular decades
later that there would be Festivals where you can actually meet and
take photos of your favorite actors and actresses!!

I was fortunate to be able to afford going to the 2001 DS Festival at the World
Trade Center Marriot, held 3 weeks before the WTC came crashing down.

It was so awesome to be able to talk to Kathryn Leigh Scott,
Lara Parker, David Selby, John Karlen, etc, and to take their pictures
up close.

Tragically, though, this was to be the last Fest to be held at that particular
location... I hope to some day make it to another Gathering, whether it's
held in California or in NYC again.

Ive started watching it when they did reruns on scifi. But first introduced to it when they remade it in the 90's.
